New Chief Technology Officer

The West Covina Unified School District recently hired Tony Ramirez as the new Chief Technology Officer.

Ramirez has several years of experience working with technology in the education field. He was most recently the Director of Information Technology for the Glendora Unified School District and had previously held the same position for nine years at Foothill Christian School. Prior to serving as a director, he was a programmer at Azusa Pacific University.

He has earned a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems and a master’s degree in information technology from Azusa Pacific University.

“I’m honored to join this great team to serve the technology needs of the students, teachers, and staff of West Covina Unified,” said Ramirez. “I am committed to the goal of increasing the availability, reliability, and use of technology within our great district.”

In his role, he will be responsible for the overall technology strategy, development, and operations for the District. He will work closely with different departments to ensure teachers, staff and students are equipped with the technology they need in order to be successful.


Ramirez lives in Glendora with his wife, Sara, and their two sons - Grant, 4 and Jack, 1.
