New Principal at West Covina High School

Dr. Ryan D’Errico is the new principal at West Covina High School and is already making great strides. A few weeks ago, he collaborated with staff, students and families and was able to earn a $25,000 grant for the school’s athletic department!

“I am honored and extremely grateful to be named the new principal of West Covina High School,” he said. “I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence and amazing school spirit the staff and students have set forth here.”

Dr. D’Errico is an experienced administrator, working as an assistant principal for six years, including at Edgewood schools last year. He came from Antelope Valley Union High School District where he oversaw athletics, curriculum and instruction, and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS). At Antelope Valley High School, he was a dean for two years; a special education teacher for three years; and the varsity football and wrestling coach.

Ryan D’Errico earned a bachelor’s degree at Chapman University, a master’s degree from Brandman University. He continued his educational career by earning a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Southern California (USC).

Dr. D’Errico is working diligently to support staff and students to ensure they are continuously growing and developing.

“I plan to continue providing a wide-range of opportunities for students to achieve their goals and aspirations, through both instruction and extra-curricular activities.”

His goal is for students to explore their passions and interests, while simultaneously developing the skills necessary to successfully pursue their post-secondary goals following graduation.

Welcome to the family, Dr. D’Errico!
