Superintendent’s Update – January 2020

Superintendent’s Update – January 2020

As we move forward into a new decade, I am pleased to share exciting developments in West Covina Unified’s outstanding academic offerings.

West Covina High School will become a destination for Southern California’s young artists with the launch of our new Performing Arts Academy in fall 2020. High-achieving students with a passion for the arts will be able to hone their craft and learn from industry professionals within the confines of the WCHS campus.

Edgewood High School will also provide new learning opportunities to incoming freshmen with the launch of a Cisco Academy career technical education pathway. Students will be able to enhance their information technology skills, gaining a valuable professional advantage.

As the District seeks to bring new and expanded initiatives and programs to our community, our schools and students continue to thrive, garnering well-deserved state recognitions and scholarships.

2019-20 has been a year of excellence in West Covina Unified, and there are many more exciting opportunities to come. As always, these achievements would not be possible without the dedication of our community, teachers and staff.

Sincerely,

Dr. Charles D. Hinman
Superintendent
