WCUSD Superintendent’s Update July 2019

WCUSD Superintendent’s Update July 2019

West Covina Unified students, educators and staff kept busy this summer, continuing to garner recognition for their achievements while also preparing for the new school year.

West Covina High School students received top awards at the inaugural West Covina Film Festival, highlighting their creativity and video production skills.

Physical improvements can be seen across the District this summer, as numerous Measure ES-funded projects break ground or are approaching completion. The science and career technical education building at West Covina High School is the latest major project to begin construction this summer, and will further our goals to provide state-of-the-art, engaging learning environments for all students.

We are set to launch new and expanded learning opportunities for our students this year, including a new Mandarin Dual Language Immersion program through the International World Schools of West Covina.

I would like to thank our community, educators, and staff who work tirelessly to elevate West Covina Unified to new levels of excellence, and I look forward to what we can accomplish together in 2019-20.

We look forward to welcoming our students back on Thursday, Aug. 15!

Sincerely,

Dr. Charles D. Hinman
Superintendent
