Gifted and Talented Education (GATE)

Our GATE program provides gifted and talented students within our schools with guidance and instruction to help meet their needs and encourage the development of creative and critical thinking skills. Each site within our district participates in this program to bring students:

  • Differentiated curriculum and instruction
  • Varied accelerated learning opportunities
  • Enrichment

We encourage parental involvement with this and all programs in our district.

Teacher nomination and assessment referral identifies students in grades 3-12 for the GATE program. Parents are also welcome to request a referral hearing to begin identification procedures for their children. We utilize multiple measure identification instruments that will ensure all students have equal access to this program. Testing for the GATE program occurs annually in the fall.
